BIO: Originally from America's Dairyland, Wisconsin., Mr. Metcalf grew up in a small farming town, Dodgeville, where his Great Grandpa owned a lumber company that supplied much of the material that built the surrounding communities. He even supplied materials for the world renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin residence. Mr. Metcalf's Uncle, Tom Metcalf (he built the cabin where the picture above was taken), is also a Wisconsin Builder and Educator. He has since retired from Sun Prairie high school where he taught a similar Construction Technology course for well over 30 years. You can say that building is in the Metcalf blood.
Mr. Metcalf continued this legacy as he began doing residential remodeling and new home construction in San Luis Obispo County under mentors G.C's Greg Norton, Dennis Ghere, Doug Allred, and Karl Davis. In 2004, Mr. Metcalf moved back to the Central Valley and became a G.C. and started Metcalf Builders. In 2008, in response to the housing crisis, Mr. Metcalf went into education while still maintaining his construction business. In 2018, Mr. Metcalf started the Construction Trades CTE class he currently teaches.
